Cobalion @ Leftovers
Name: Utility (Fighting)
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Taunt
- Iron Head

[SET COMMENTS]
With excellent defense and a good utility movepool, Cobalion is the premier Stealth Rock setter on Fighting teams. Thunder Wave is used to slow faster foes such as Choice Scarf Latios and Dragapult. Taunt prevents foes such as Tapu Fini, Dragonite, and Tyranitar from setting up, while also preventing foes such as Torkoal and Araquanid from setting hazards. Iron Head reduces Cobalion's passivity while also allowing it to hit Fairy-types such as Clefable and Hatterene super effectively. The given EV spread makes Cobalion able to take as many hits as possible while ensuring it doesn't get outsped by other Cobalion.

All of Cobalion's Teammates appreciate its ability to break down teams with Stealth Rock, as well as its ability to act as a neutrality to Fairy- and Flying-type moves. Thanks to its typing, Toxicroak is able to take pressure off of Cobalion as a Fairy-resist while also being immune to Water-type moves such as Scald. Together, they are also able to break through menacing Fairy-types such as Clefable and Hatterene. Keldeo and Urshifu-R are good teammates for Cobalion, as they can switch into Fire-type moves, as well as threaten out Fire-types such as Heatran and Volcarona. Terrakion can also switch into Fire-type moves and consistently threaten the aforementioned Fire-types, while also providing good speed control. In return, Cobalion can paralyze faster Choice Scarf users such as Dragapult and Gengar. Galarian Zapdos is a good teammate for Cobalion as it can pressure fatter Pokemon such as Quagsire. Buzzwole is also a good teammate, as it proves to be a great asset against Flying-type teams.

Volt Switch is an option over Thunder Wave or Taunt as a result of its ability to gain momentum.

With excellent defense and a good utility movepool, Cobalion is the premier Stealth Rock setter on Fighting teams. Thunder Wave is used to slow faster foes such as Choice Scarf Tapu Fini Latios (Latios / Tapu Lele look better here as Fini has the Misty Terrain but Lele has Fblast that can OHKO) and Dragapult. Thanks to its typing, Toxicroak is able to take pressure off of Cobalion as a Fairy-resist while also being immune to Water-type moves such as Scald. Notably, Toxicroak also completely blocks Toxapex from doing anything, which is important because Toxapex is one of Cobalion's best answers if it is not carrying Volt Switch. Together, they are also able to break through menacing Fairy-types such as Clefable and Hatterene. Keldeo and Urshifu-R are good teammates for Cobalion, as they can switch into Fire-type moves, as well as threaten out Fire-types such as Heatran Victini (Same as for the other 2 edits, Victini can always carry Bolt Strike and also pivot with U-turn so I rather have Heatran as you are CC-less) and Volcarona. However, it should be noted that they only threaten these Pokemon out when Sun isn't active. Terrakion can also switch into Fire-type moves and consistently threaten the aforementioned Fire-types, while also providing good speed control. In return, Cobalion can paralyze faster Choice Scarf users such as Dragapult and Gengar. Galarian Zapdos is a good teammate for Cobalion as it can pressure fatter Pokemon such as Amoonguss, (Would remove it as after Taunt it's not that Guss threatens you with any move and u can eventually Stealth Rock + Paralyze it without Risking Scald burns or EQ) Toxapex, and Quagsire. Buzzwole is also a good teammate, as it proves to be a great asset against Flying-type teams.

- you dont need to mention that toxapex counters cobalion, its not s breaker just a support pokemon
- the not threatening fire mons in sun is a bit too specific, id remove that

With excellent defense and a good utility movepool, Cobalion is the premier Stealth Rock setter on Fighting teams. Thunder Wave is used to slow faster foes such as Choice Scarf Latios and Dragapult. Taunt prevents foes such as Tapu Fini, Dragonite, and Tyranitar (Ttar isnt setting up on it either way) from setting up, while also preventing foes such as Torkoal and Araquanid from setting hazards. Iron Head reduces Cobalion's passivity while also allowing it to hit Fairy-types such as Clefable and Hatterene super effectively. The given EV spread makes Cobalion able to take as many hits as possible while ensuring it doesn't get outsped by other Cobalion (use entry hazard setters instead imo, a cobalion mirror would be very rare).

All of Cobalion's Teammates appreciate its ability to break down teams with Stealth Rock, as well as its ability to act as a neutrality to Fairy- and Flying-type moves. (Arrangement wise, keep G.Zappy and Terrakion first over Toxicroak) Thanks to its typing, Toxicroak is able to take pressure off of Cobalion as a Fairy-resist (Croak is super frail and the fairy resist is near-neglible, esp when Hatt and Clef have moves for croak. Water immunity + breaking through fairy types is enough)while also being immune to Water-type moves such as Scald. Together, they are also able to break through menacing Fairy-types such as Clefable and Hatterene. Keldeo and Urshifu-R are good teammates for Cobalion, as they can switch into Fire-type moves, as well as threaten out Fire-types such as Heatran and Volcarona. Terrakion can also switch into Fire-type moves (you'd rather not, focus on revenge killing threats to Cobalion imo) and consistently threaten the aforementioned Fire-types, while also providing good speed control. In return, Cobalion can paralyze faster Choice Scarf users such as Dragapult and Gengar (wouldnt this just Focus miss you?). Galarian Zapdos is a good teammate for Cobalion as it can pressure fatter Pokemon such as Quagsire. Buzzwole is also a good teammate, as it proves to be a great asset against Flying-type teams (it deals with Ground teams semi well too, more than flying types at least).
